"The holy spirit is like a dog", a Dani missionary said with gusto. John listen as the analogy developed. "When the Dani people go into the forest to hunt for possum and other animals, they take their dogs along. Without a dog it would be hopeless to spot the animals, but the dog smells them out and gives the hunter a chance to shoot them. That's the way the Holy Spirit convicts the Christian of sin and gives him a chance to put it out of his life," the Dani explained. John Dekker with Lois Neely

Once In A While
Once in a while I venture to a kid's section of a book store and pick up a good story. Once in a while I smile and giggle out loud while I read. Once in a while I'm treated with awesome drawing with uncomplicated lines and intricate details. Once in a while I find life's lesson in the story. It's always delightful and refreshing to read children's books.

I Heart Frankie
A 176 pages magazine full of delightful things that make my right brain gives a sigh of bliss "Hmmm....." Once I'm done reading my magazine I usually cut up its pages and recycle them for my handmade journal. This one is a keeper. Or not...

Title
I rarely buy a book because of its title. Yes, a title will definitely will intrigue my curiosity but it never moves me to purchase a book until I saw this book on a shelf in an art store. I didn't even bother to scan the pages like I usually do. I just had to have it, grabbed the book, put it in my basket and proceed to the check out counter. My reading guts was right. I love it! I'm going to pick just twelve new ways to bind a book, one book for each month of 2013. Yay!

Color My World
My first color pencil set had only six colors: red, orange, yellow, blue, green and purple. Dena's first color pencil set had sixty four colors: vermillion, ocher, emerald, azure,
magenta, lilac and more. I remember she loved playing with the pencils
when she was small. She would take out all pencils from the box, mixed
them all up, and sorted them by colors. She would be absorbed in the hues of the colors and forgot the rest of the world.
I'm naming my handmade journals after those beautiful colors.

Change Of Plan
For a fundraising in IES South I made 20 sketchbooks. I wanted to make a hand made envelope for each book, but it was too time-consuming. Think! Think! How do I pack these sketchbooks nicely & quickly? I sorted out my stuff and found some clear paper, colorful elastic bands, left over round stickers from a yearbook project, and some buttons.
I used my printer to print a title on the clear paper, wrapped it around the sketchbook, hold it in the back with the round sticker, and secure it with the elastic band & button.
It was less than 5 steps and cost me nothing. Woohoo!
