Draw, Inspire, Create

I love children's section of a book store. It's the best treasure hunt place for cool and awesome books. Why can't grown up books be more fun? This book is suppose to unleash my creativity but I love this book so much I don't want to draw on it. I should have bought two copies. Hey! Maybe I can do it digitally with those drawing tablet. Hey! I am already inspired without even drawing on it. Cool! :-)

Miss Perception

Dena thinks I have OCD just because I have to have my multivitamin pill box in the right order of color.  Blue, light blue, green, yellow, orange, red, pink.

Little Things She Needs

When was the last time someone give me a doll? Must be decades ago. I can't believe it still gives me such joy after all these years. Thank you Ibu Doris. You are so sweet.

Incredible Mind

Limited words. Photographic memories. Lack of social skills. Precision details. I guess where one sense is inadequate other senses are sharpened to the extreme. A masterpiece of mother's nature? Welcome to the world of Stephen Wiltshire.

Jumping Frog Race

Once upon a time before Ipad, smart phones and social media, Dena & I made our own board game and board game pieces. Our game rules were never fix or the same each time we played. We would race by making origami frogs jump from start to feinesh. Do you still sound out word to figure out its spelling, Dena? :-)

Fun Theory

A site from VW dedicated to a theory that something as simple as fun can change people's behavior for the better. My kind of theory. Let's play! Applicable to all areas of life. :-)

Evil Dead

I hate bloody gory horror movie and I rarely watch movie in a theater these days but I let my sister talked me into watching one just because I had to kill time. What was I thinking? I couldn't even enjoy my favorite caramel popcorn because I was using it as an eye shield through out the movie. Next time I have to kill time I'll stick to window shopping.

Negative Calendar

I love negative space. It made my dominant left brain stuttered. When I look at negative space of an object (that is the empty space that surround an object) my left brain get confused because it is unable to give me information. Giving my right brain freedom to interpret things in shapes and lines. Can you see the numbers on this calendar? It reminds me of the face vase. Do you see the vase first or the two faces first?

Talking About My Girl

While she was busy texting I captured her in lines. She is almost nineteen yet I still see her as my little girl, even in my drawing.

Swimming Numbers

When I run I rely on my Garmin to tell my distance. When I swim I have to rely on my unreliable mind to count laps. But my mind has a mind on its own. It loves to wander off to this and that so I lost count all the time. I have to trick my mind to stay focus on counting by counting images. One Octopus, Two Turtles, Three Tarantulas, Four Fennec Foxes, Five Feathers, Six Swordfish, Seven Samurai, Eight Elephants, Nine Ninjas, Ten Tables, Eleven Eggs, Twelve Elves, Thirteen Queens, Fourteen Fowls, Fifteen Fridays. Counting has never been so much fun. 15x4laps@25m=1500m.

A Friend In Need Is A Friend Indeed

A friend is one that knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you have become but gently allows you to grow, and most importantly gives you cool journal once in a while :-) Thank you Ira!

Collective Bullying

After three months, two witnesses, a very unreliable schedules, two last minute cancellations without any notice, five hours of waiting in total annoyance, I still had to pay an unauthorized fee in addition to an official legal fee at the end after all. Even the guy who took an oath for the two witnesses asked for an illicit fee. I caved in to the cruel kindness system. I am guilty as charged. I feel lousily happy. What a fine mess!

Hakuna Matata

I worry constantly when Dena is sick. I get uneasy, tense, distress, restless. Millions of butterflies in my stomach. Drawing helps me not too worry too much. Drawing helps my mind not to venture out to the future and worrying about things that may or may not even happen. It's like taking a holiday from worrying. Get well soon sayang!

Mr. Positive

Injured ankle #^@%*#! Take good care of your ankle. Do you want to run for life, or not? I have to take 2 weeks break from a marathon training. Enjoy your time of no training while it lasts. Plenty of activities to do during a break: swim, bike, love, dive, eat, walk :-) I may not be ready for my first marathon in June. There will be plenty of other marathons. I worked so hard for it. So what. You made it to half marathon. You can start again. Injured left knee. Split toe nails. Black toe. Injured left ankle. It's part of the game. What doesn't kill you make you stronger. Life is good! Keep running

I've Got Mail!

It's always lovely to see or to hear from former students. Whether I get a shy hi and a smile, a loud hello, a big hug, a long Facebook message, a high five, a comment on my post or an email. Thank you Andien for your kind and encouraging words.

May Day

Best cleaning tips: Do small cleaning everyday so you don't end up spending a lot of time and energy cleaning all the dirt and dust that piles up over the time. No sweeping under the rug. Best relationship tips: Settle whatever things everyday so you don't end up holding grudges and spend a lot of time and energy fighting over unresolved things that piles up over the time. No sweeping under the rug.
